Review: Purex Cookie Scent – Laundry Detergent

Purex sent me their new Cookie Scented laundry detergent to try out, and I must say, I’m impressed! This new Purex is super concentrated, so it has double the wash power of previous versions, 66 loads vs. 33 loads. That is a huge plus in my frugal book!

The new line has 3 different cookie scents, Chocolate Chip, Oatmeal Raisin and Girl Scout Thin Mint (with a portion of the proceeds from this scent, going to the scouts). While I was not one of the lucky bloggers to try the chocolate chip, I hear it is fantastic.

Purex sent me the Thin Mint and Oatmeal Raisin to test.

Normally oatmeal cookies aren’t my thing, but this detergent smells amazing! A nice sweet yet fruity smell was left on my clothes even through drying. It is a long lasting scent that is sure to win over your other detergents. I thought it was hilarious when my neighbor came over to visit and told me that my house smelled great. I used it in an unconventional way, and mixed it with a little water and spritzed it all over my house. I highly recommend trying that!

Next up, is the Girl Scouts Thin Mint, and this one I can’t wait to get my hands on more of! Not only does it smell JUST like the real thing, but a portion of the proceeds goes to the scouts! Once this comes out in full force, I will definitely be looking forward to some coupons, because I would love to stock up on this.

Purex has always been my detergent of choice, because their price is great, they offer high value coupons, they use very little chemicals, which means it isn’t harsh on my family’s skin. I also like the variety of scents that they have available, and these 3 new additions just make that even better.

Of course, I am required to add this information from Purex “We would like to emphasize that in no way should it be suggested or implied that Purex Laundry detergent has anything to do with baking or cooking. Purex Laundry Detergent is not for consumption.” And, yes, I dipped my finger in it and tasted it, out of pure curiosity, DO NOT DO THAT! It is still soap, tastes like soap, but smells like cookies.

Purex is offering a blogger prize for those who were lucky enough to try these new scents. The 5 videos with the most views as of April 2nd, 2012 at 11:00am PST will win, and I need your help. Please view and “Like” my video below thank you so much for your support!
