Bug Out Box Review

Bug-Out-box

Anyone who has been reading for a while, will know that I am a “Prepper”. Each of my 6 kids, myself and my husband, have a bug out bag made up in case of emergencies where we would have to evacuate. I also have a few extra bags made up for random people that we may come upon during said emergencies. When I heard of the “Bug Out Box“, I had to sign up to see what it was all about. The cost for a subscription is $19.99 plus shipping, for a total of $27.94. That is pricey, but I figured I’d give it a try, because for the month of April, they had a surprise bonus item included…..bonus items always get me!

Here is what my box contained:

And my bonus item was a no name brand jack knife, which I can’t find anywhere, due to it not having an actual name to look up, but I would value it at around $5, however, this item isn’t really supposed to be in this box, so we can just not include that in the total.

Without the bonus item, the total value of the box is $19.06, most of which are items that you can get on Amazon with free shipping, so I had a net loss of $8.88, of which, I could have used to get some MREs. Needless to say, I am not very impressed with this box. They seem to be a new company, but if they want to stick around, they are going to have to step it up a little. I love subscription boxes, but I have never heard of a box that you LOSE money on! Most subscription boxes have much more value than you pay for, and there are some that you get the value you pay for, but to lose money on a box? I am not happy about that, and can not recommend this subscription.
