Stress is something that impacts many of our lives every single day. When we reach adulthood we have the challenge of managing our work, social life, personal life, and a healthy routine all in one and this can be a lot for anyone to bear.
If you have found yourself starting to feel stressed recently, it is important that you consider what the root cause of this stress is. It could be a number of things but if you don’t identify the trigger you may not be able to work past it and reduce that stress.
Here are some of the reasons why you might be stressed this month.
It is no secret that money problems are the root cause of a lot of stress and worry. In our adult lives we have a lot of financial responsibility and sometimes it is simply not realistic for us to pay for so much stuff. Particularly during and after the pandemic – many people have suffered from financial issues and they are only now starting to work their way back to stability. If you are struggling with your finances this month – consider a plan of how you can get back to a healthy bank account and struggle with your finances no more.
Lack of sleep
Sleep is a crucial function of the body that not only impacts our physical health but also our mental health. It is important that you take the time to sleep for at least 8 hours a night to allow your brain to reset, rest, and refresh. Ensure that you allow your brain this time because it will reduce your stress and anxiety and may make you feel happier and more energised in your everyday life.
Lack of food and water
If you notice that you start to feel stressed at a certain point during the day – this could simply mean that you haven’t given your body enough food and water to fuel it for the morning. Make sure you eat a balanced breakfast and keep a bottle of water close by that you can sip on throughout the day, and consider a women’s cbd which can also reduce your stress naturally. If stress causes you to lose the feeling of hunger, as it does for me, cannabis can also help increase your apatite. Keep healthy snacks like apples, bananas, cheese and crackers available for a quick pick-me-up.
A personal issue
A lot of the time the root cause of stress is a personal issue in your life. It could be a rough patch in your relationship, an argument you have had with a family member, or something different entirely. But by identifying this issue and working towards fixing it you will be able to move beyond your stress and be happier and healthier in the rest of your life.
If you have suddenly noticed an increase in your stress levels that seems to have coincided with a new project at work – it is important to address this before it becomes too much for you. Workload is a common source of stress and not enough people will address the issue and ask their manager for help. It is important it you start to feel overwhelmed with your workload that you talk to your manager and address your concerns. It is better to address them and work past them than to suffer in silence and crash under the weight of your responsibilities.
