I was given the opportunity to try out Bambo Nature disposable diapers on two of my children. They sent me a pack in size 3 and in size 5 for my 1 year old and my 2 year old.
I was pleasantly surprised at the sheer number of diapers I was given. I had to contain myself from opening the packs so I could take this picture, lol. So, as soon as the pic was taken, I ripped the bags open to see what they looked like.
Here’s my baby girl fresh out of the tub, modeling her new diapers.
After wearing her diaper for a little bit, she went potty and I was very happy to see that the blue words in the center of the diaper blur out when wet. I love that sort of indication.
Blurry words in middle of diaper.
These diapers were very soft and SUPER absorbent! My daughter is a heavy sleeper, AND a very heavy pee-er. That combo has, in the past, resulted in what we call “splody diaper” where the nasty gel comes seeping out the sides in the morning because the diaper is so full. Three nights in a row with these diapers (no, not the SAME diaper! lol) and not only did we not have splody diaper, but there was no leaks! Not one!
The same goes for my son, who, when poops, can make HUGE messes. I’m sure you are aware of the recent Huggies deals that were happening, during that, we stocked up due to the cheapness, and all I have to say is, you get what you pay for! BOTH my kids would leak pee and poo out of those like crazy! These Bambo Nature diapers held EVERYTHING in.
Being a mother of 6, I have tried MANY different brands of disposable diapers and a bunch of cloth diapers as well. Personally, I love cloth diapers, and hubby likes sposies, so we switch back and forth. Out of all of the brands of disposables that I have tried (Huggies, Pampers, Luvs, Fitti, Store Brands, Seventh Generation, Earths Best, you name it!) I have to say that I really do like Bambo Nature better than ANY of them!
This is just one of the reasons why I have no fallen in love with the brand. They are also eco-friendly (as eco-friendly as sposies can be anyway!) Bambo Nature comes from Europe – Denmark. It is considered the greenest disposable diaper in Europe. It is the only disposable to have been awarded the Nordic Swan Eco-label, and they are certified (this means audits and inspections) to be free of dangerous chemicals. Bambo Nature is a Trusted Partner of Healthy Child Healthy World, and is certified free of all known allergens. The product is designed to avoid rashes. No chemicals an allergens. No perfumes, etc. In addition, there are no hard parts, no rough edges, no creases or folds in the material. This means no part of the diaper should irritate the skin by friction. Even the tabs are super soft and deigned without creases to rub on the skin. Typically, elastic waistbands have folds and creases that can irritate the skin. Bambo absorbs a lot. They really should not leak. This does not mean that they never leak, because sometimes they do – but rarely, and in my case, I have not seen it yet.
