Gardening is good for your health AND Wallet!

Have you ever considered gardening to be exercise? It is, and what’s more if you’re busy growing a large garden of fresh vegetables, you can save tons of money on your grocery bills while you exercise! It’s like paying yourself to exercise and be healthy all at once, if you really think about it.

Our ancestors worked in the fields and grew their own fruits and vegetables, and it’s been proven that overall their health was significantly better that ours in the present day. They were busy with chores, plowing, sowing, rooting, weeding, and sweating. When harvest came they weren’t finished; they canned, pickled, preserved everything they grew to have food for the coming year until spring when it started again. Sweat on their brows all day everyday kept their bodies toned and strong, and the healthy foods they grew helped. What lead to earlier deaths with our great-grandparents and before was the lack of hygiene and advances in medicine, otherwise they would have outlived us given the same advantages in those areas we have now.

Why don’t you start a garden today? Even working a six by six foot plot makes a major difference in your health and wallet.
