Blogging as a full time job?

So, you may, or may not have known that I recently lost my job. After some good talks with my husband, we decided that I would blog full time as our source of income. Now, I know you might be going “Really!? You can do that!?” and the truth is, it isn’t easy. I mean, I don’t make a ton of money on my blog, I literally make 20c each day you print coupons from my site.

Now, that doesn’t mean I get 20c for each time you print a coupon, it is 20c per day, so whether you print 1 or 30, I still get 20c. I tell you about some amazing offers that I find and I may make a few cents, anywhere from 5c to $8, depending on the offer, but I promise you, I would never put anything out there, that I, myself have not signed up for or tried.

Yes, all of us “Coupon Bloggers” make some money for blogging. Sometimes we also get virtually yelled at for it. I have had many nasty comments about how an offer I put up (even if it is FREE to the reader to get) makes me money, but honestly, I put in MANY hours of work to find these deals, and I make make a quarter, but would you work for free? Bloggers spend far more time on their blogs than someone who worked out of the house, but may make the same, or even less than them. On top of all that, we also have bills associated with our blogs, blogging is not free. I pay for hosting service, my domain name, email, internet access and many other things of the sort, in order to keep the blog running, and it has taken me 2 years to get where I am now.

Like I said, small amount, but it adds up. I am in no way going to get rich by blogging…not in the next year of 5 anyway, lol, but I should be able to make enough to pay our bills.

Why am I telling you all of this? Simply because I know you enjoy my blog, and I promise that I will never charge YOU to get the information here, it will always remain FREE to you! I would really appreciate it if you would come here and print the coupons that you would be printing anyway. So please, feel free to read everything on this site, sign up for freebies that I post and join some sites that can also earn you some money, like SwagBucks or SuperPoints.

All-in-all, blogging is not easy, but I enjoy it, so it doesn’t feel like work. It isn’t for everyone, but it is for me, and I appreciate any help you can send my way, even if it is that 20c coupon print!

I also wanted you to know, that because of this huge change in my life, I will be around to answer any questions that you have. I am also taking suggestions for weekly ongoing columns, so feel free to email me at mail at freetailtherapy dot com with any suggestions.
